Our School Council allows students of all ages to take a leadership role and contribute to the democratic processes at Strangford Integrated College. In September, we were excited to hold our college elections and after much campaigning, students cast their votes for their elected representative. Thanks to the NI Electoral office for allowing us to borrow their polling booths and ballot boxes for the day and also to the MPs, MLAs and local councillors who stopped by to show their support. The School Council this year have been exploring how to support the Eco Committee to maintain our Green Flag status, have spent time evaluating our extra-curricular provision especially at break and lunch and are busy reviewing our uniform to make it more cost-effective. Every year the students enjoy a visit to Stormont Buildings and this year are excited to be joined by the student council from Kircubbin Integrated Primary School.
